The MIXSED project officially began with its kick-off meeting held in Hamburg on March 3–4, 2025, under clear and sunny skies. The event was hosted by the University of Hamburg (UHH). It was a great moment to finally meet in person and bring together our  team: Eleanor, Chiara, and Joel from the University of Hamburg; Wilken from the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI); María and Mara from the University of las Palmas Gran Canaria (ULPGC); and Anna, David, and Helena from the University of Barcelona (UB).

During these two days, we started planning the expeditions that will start in 2026. We also discussed the design and logistics of mooring deployments and exchanged ideas about the project's research goals.

We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with such a dedicated and talented team! Stay tuned for updates and news as the MIXSED project unfolds!
