Influence of sub/mesoscale flow on topography
WP2 | Summary
Aim: To characterise particles transported and the capacity of the DSO to shape the seafloor (O2).
Method: Repeated multibeam surveys at high resolution, moored and particle flux datasets, seabed sediment cores and sub-seafloor mapping will be exploited to address how the sediment transport and load relates to the sub/mesoscale context of the physical oceanographic processes.
Outcome: A new understanding of the role of sub/mesoscale oceanic variability in influencing the sediment load and transport.
