WP0 | Summary
Aim: In this work package, we will prepare and carry out the fieldwork including mooring deployments and high-resolution ship-based measurements.
Method: A multi-disciplinary field programme on both German and Spanish vessels in 2026 and 2027; expert teams from the partner institutions will carry out mooring deployments and recoveries, collection of high-resolution hydrographic and water sample data, seabed sampling and bathymetric surveys. Fieldwork will be carried out according to international standards, with calibration dips of moored CTDs, salt samples and salinometer measurements, and a standard patch test to calibrate multibeam echosounders especially between different cruises and vessels.
Outcome: High resolution dataset along the east Greenland margin, enabling the analyses planned in WP1–3 of MIXSED. All primary data will be deposited to appropriate (type-specific) open access repositories with public access within 2 years of completion of the fieldwork.
